Shoshone inaugurates electric lighting after extensive preparations by Shoshone Light & Water Co. Residents remark at first night effects and renewed street and home illumination. City officials audit water and road funds for 1904, noting total receipts and salaries. Senator Heyburn to speak in town and surrounding areas as campaign events proceed.
A resignation letter left town signaling Maud Shoshone’s abrupt exit from the Shoshone school. The board says the move forfeits respect earned during her tenure. Mrs. L. M. Burnside assists as the district seeks a replacement. The item appears amid readings and poems in a Broadside-era page.
In British Columbia an incident near Vancouver describes eight Japanese workers in a shingle yard trapping a bear using a cage and rope. The bear was exhausted and captured alive after a struggle, with workers sustaining torn clothing but no serious injuries. The Vancouver zoo may soon gain two bears from this daring event.
Describes the San Juan Pueblos as the last ancient Pueblo Indians of New Mexico. They are pure Toitse, though altered by contact, with gay primitive dress and beaded blankets. They have Catholic missionary schools, practice pottery akin to Zuni wares, and maintain agricultural life. Their national dance is Los Meichines.
Government maps made in 1837 1838 and 1839 by Gen Robert E Lee while a captain in the US engineers were displayed during ejectment suits brought by the St Louis Board of Education in the Circuit Court at St Louis. The cases sought ownership rights to land along the Mississippi River.

The text is garbled but clearly an aggressive sales pitch for a limited time offer.
