Shoshone School Opens With Strong Teacher Lineup
The city of Shoshone welcomes a distinguished Idaho staff as Prof. W. C. Thompson directs seventh grade and oversees a bright start. Ruth E. Leete heads grades six through ten, Anna L. Hitchcock covers fourth through seventh, Orena Crabtree guides six and five in a new north building wing, Lula Wheeler handles third and fourth in the stone building, Blanche Gwin the primary on the north side, and Fern Fuld remains primary instructor in the high school. Enrollment stands at 159 with projections above 200 as term nears, promising the most successful year yet despite tight accommodations. A surprise birthday party for W. M. Fields provided a light-hearted interlude, featuring an ice cream social at Mrs. Blodgett's and a graphophone encore that delighted the guest of honor.

Amorous debate amid kissing and life’s extremes
Fragmentary reminiscences celebrate kissing across life stages from youth to death, contrasting romance with social norms and medical cautions. The prose wanders through Byron, Shakespeare, and public figures, mixing humor with earnest reflections on passion, mortality, and happiness.
