The Board of Highway Commissioners of Shoshone Highway District Lincoln County Idaho approved a bond issue of $80,000 after a November 2 1914 election where 311 voted in favor and 68 against. The bonds bear interest up to 5.5 percent, mature in ten years, with denominations of not more than 1000 dollars, and may be redeemed at the district’s or a New York bank’s option. Notice to issue and sell the bonds must be published for two weeks in the Shoshone Journal inviting bids.

New Land Opened Near Shoshone
Commissioner Disney received word from the Hate aane Office that land south of Shoshone and east and west of town for several miles will be opened for homestead and desert claim. The area covers about three and a half townships or 126 square miles. Much of the land is rocky, but thousands of acres are level and suitable for farms with rich soil.
