Lincoln County Idaho board fixes recording fees and plans Sunday School convention

The Lincoln county board on April 30 1907 set recording fees for water contracts with Twin Falls North Side Land and Water Company, approved liquor license for Palmer Cottle at Shoshone, ordered banks to pay 3 percent interest on public deposits, and approved auditor’s report. They announced a county adjournment to May 13 and noted the death of longtime resident John D Murphy, describing his life from New York to Idaho and his ranching, mining, and sheep work.

McMahon Named Register of Hailey Land Office in July

Senator Heyburn recommends A I Tic MaHon A T McMahon of this city for appointment as register of the Hailey land office to succeed Col M Sharp. He is expected to take charge about the first of July as Idaho irrigation plans expand with wells on the Alberta tract. Alberta grows into a brick city with timber hotels a lodge and livery stable to be replaced by brick structures. A 400 horsepower power plant on Little Wood river and a flouring mill near the townsite are planned, with 12 000 acres already cultivated and 25 000 Carey act acres nearby. Lots to go on sale after survey work finishes.
