Shoshone July Fourth Celebration Plans Detailed

Shoshone hosts a full day of events for July Fourth 1908 with a grand parade at 10:40 am, opening remarks by Hon. Ed Walters, Declaration reading, and a lively program of novelty races. Activities include girls and boys foot races, free-for-all races, greased pole, bicycle races, a Milner vs Shoshone baseball game, Morse race, saddle horse race, and prize money ranging from 2.50 to 50 dollars. Horses and other animals welcome.

Bucking Horse Contest Ends Day with Fireworks and Ball

A bucking horse contest with free entry invites riders to furnish their own mount and offers a $5 prize. The day will close with a grand fireworks display and a ball at the opera house, urging everyone to attend to avoid regret.
