Lincoln County Plans July Fourth Celebration

A meeting in Judge Fuler's office formed a committee to stage a July Fourth event. Judge Fuler chaired. J L Beckett was secretary. Committees covered finance music sports parade program and dance, with funding raised to support the celebration and strong local support for success.

New Train Schedule Takes Effect On Main Line

A new passenger train timetable went into effect Sunday on the main line. All trains shift about one hour. No 1 and 5 westbound now run at 10 49 p m and 10 33 a m respectively. Nos 2 and 6 eastbound run at 8 10 a m and 9 15 p m.

Graduation Exercises Crowded Shoshone High School Program

Graduation exercises at Shoshone High School were held at the opera house Friday night with a capacity crowd. Six girls Anna Beck Lizzie Gooding Florence Brennan Stella Woodworth Vevin Brown and Georgia Eveleth received diplomas for completing the course. Rev C A Edwards gave a talk on Education the fortune of the Republic. Music featured a mandolin solo by Florence Brennan a vocal by Ava McMahon and a chorus Forget Me Not.

Convention A Success In Uaceta County Sunday School Workers Meet

The Lincoln County Sunday School convention met Tuesday morning in the M. E. church with officers and delegates from nearly every county school and pastors present. Rev. Howard Bowler and Rev. J. H. Barton attended. C. A. Edwards gave welcome. Perry H. Evan spoke. music featured solos by Florence Brennan and others. Officers elected: Geo Tyler president. T. M. Patterson vice president. R. Coleman secretary. Edward Pratt treasurer. Mrs Wesley Middleton superintendent primaries. Henrietta McMahon missions. Eleven schools with six hundred pupils. The convention closed with Bowler’s address, resolutions, and benediction.
