Victim of Misfortune Buried at Ketchum Sunday
The remains of Sophus August Grandjyan died after being accidentally shot during a burglary chase near Reiinvess Wash. He had been night watchman for the Puget Sound Packing Company. His funeral was held in Ketchum, where his sister Mrs. Ingeborg Leflang and many friends mourn him. The incident mirrored the McKinley shooting in location.

One-Armed Coonsman Foibles Train Bluff Near Yard
A one armed man, advance man for a traveling coon show, tried to board a departing freight last Friday morning. Conductor Freeman ordered him off, he tried again on a box car, moved to the yard’s far end, was removed, then brandished a large gun at a brakeman as the caboose passed. The conductor called out a sharp remark as the scene ended.

A. O. U. W. Delegates Pass Through Shoshone En Route
A special train bearing delegates of the A. O. U. W. to the national convention traveled through Shoshone Sunday evening en route to Portland Oregon. Notable figures aboard included A. C. Harwick supreme master workman Webb McNall supreme foreman C. R. Matson supreme overseer M. W. Sackett supreme recorder and J. A. Asker supreme treasurer. McNall is known as former Kansas insurance commissioner who forced insurers to meet populist regulations. Matson was Cook County Illinois sheriff at the Haymarket executions.

Thumb Injury on Westbound Train Leaves Pritchard Hospitalbound
Brakeman J H Pritchard suffered a crushed right thumb while coupling in a dining car area of a westbound train last Saturday evening. He was tended by Doctors Baugh and Rogers who dressed the wound and he proceeded to Salt Lake City on the night train. The physicians believed the thumb could be saved.

Better Train Service On Branch With New Engine Use
Engine No 214 becomes the passenger engine on the branch while old No 605 hauls stock and ties up at this place. Two trains daily will run during the stock season as shipping remains heavy, with about one train load of stock arriving daily. Shippers welcome the change to reduce prior inconvenience.
