Largest Nugget Ever Found In Australia In 1565

The largest nugget ever found weighed 210 pounds and was valued at $45,000. It was discovered in the Donolly Distaid region of Australia in 1565.

Taggart Suffers Severe Injuries In Wagon Accident

Kim Taggart was injured when a dump wagon with unsecured boards tipped him from the wagon while hauling dirt north of town. The team frightened, ran through town, and collided with W. Starr’s outfit near the Stockgrowers’ store. He sustained a deep cut behind the knee and multiple bruises, then received medical care and remains under nursing care at home.

Twin Falls Lands Visited By St Louis Delegation

C B Hurtt and E L Musqueray with Mark Bennitt of St Louis and Governor Morri son arrived Sunday to inspect Blue Lakes Twin Falls irrigation works. Hurtt, president of Twin Falls Investment Company, plans to develop town sites, settle settlers, and push Twin Falls as the railroad terminus. They toured Blue Lakes, Twin Falls City and Shoshone Falls, then Milner and Kimama before returning to Boise. Construction materials arrive and plans for a large red stone hotel are discussed as the irrigation project progresses.

Northern Lumber Cut in Sault Ste Marie District

The 1902 lumber cut in the Sault Ste Marie district reached about 160 million feet and the 1903 total exceeds 200 million feet. At least 75 percent of the output comes from American owned mills. Two large saw mills were built this year and a new veneering mill operated profitably through the season.
