C W Wernicke escaped serious burns when live coals from a smoked pipe ignited blankets on a couch in his bathroom after a hot bath. Mrs Wernicke and Jim Fuller doused the blaze, saving him. he suffered temporary smoke inhalation but was not burned. Also noted are tax and illiteracy figures from various states.
Clarence B. Hurtt returns to Boise after three months abroad praising Idaho’s display at the world fair. Shipments to Portland for the Lewis and Clark exposition will include much of the Idaho exhibit and even furniture from the Idaho building. The building was sold for 500 dollars to Jay E.
