Wood River Farmer Sufferer Committed to State Asylum

N. B. Aldrich, a Wood River rancher, after a year of severe hardship and the loss of his wife, was declared insane and taken to the State asylum at Blackfoot. He has two children, a daughter and a nearly grown son, and is believed to be potentially restorable.

J B Gowen Idaho state warden urges standardizing Idaho fish and game laws with Utah to align seasons and methods. Hero Prisoners of St Benoit Fort in French Stand

A Paris based press dispatch describes about three hundred French prisoners from the Roman Camp fort near St Benoit who endured savage siege by German and Austrian forces. The elite garrison resisted with stoutness despite gas and smoke attacks and the officers were granted honorably terms upon surrender.

Sheep prices hold in Chicago market sale

Sixteen carloads of sheep from Gooding and Novinger Darrah outfits sold in Chicago on Monday at strong prices. Lambs brought 2 cents per pound and ewes 86 cents. Ten carloads were consigned by the Goodings and six by the Novinger Darrah company. Lambs averaged 73 pounds and ewes 105.

Wengen Case Heads to Gooding County Court

The district court in Gooding will hear the case Tuesday involving Welectha and the county race. Charges allege weed votes and irregularities at Gooding and Cleewbere.

Casey Jones Awakens and Tries to Butt Off Train

Caldwell, Nov 2 Casey Jones not watchman for The Oregon Short Line, was tilting boiler under the bridge when a passing train woke him. He ran out and collided with the train. nine stitches in his head. Injuries cared for by Dr Miller. Jones is around but with his head in a sling.

Flying Rock Strikes Mildred Maunders in Face

Mildred Maunders, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs W H Maunders, was struck in the face by a rock likely from a blast near Oregon street. Despite distance of over two hundred yards and intervening buildings, the rock injury was not severe and she attended school. Workmen expressed caution and covered horses as blasting continued under Ed Merrifield and experienced crews.

Patterson Dodds Wedding at Dietrich Baptist Church

James W Patterson and Miss Lil Iian Dodds of Dietrich were married at the parsonage of the Baptist Church on Wednesday evening at seven. The bridegroom's mother Mrs J P Mustain attended, with the bridal party arriving earlier. Patterson, a 4 year rancher, will continue that calling. Best wishes from many friends accompany the couple to their new home.

Man in Twin Polis Convicted of Forged Check Case

Esawe Heavy Sentence a 21 year old, married last spring, was tried in Twin Polis district court last week and convicted of pasting a forced check. He received a sentence of two to fourteen years in state prison. His parents are well known, and his prior reputation is noted. The jewelry charge involved was linked to the incident. FW Sinclair has been in Boise for ten days.

Ewen Gillis and his large family arrive in the area, seeking a fresh start after years in Pennsylvania and timber work. The family plans farming and stock raising, with neighbors welcomed and the Journal noting their public welcome as they settle near Richfield and Everett. Indian Treaty Closes Minnesota Saloons

Bemidji Minnesota November 2 Hundreds of saloon keepers across northern Minnesota will close doors as the government announces criminal prosecutions for all liquor dealers in the treaty area. Druggists may sell on prescription. government vows strict enforcement. The ceded region spans nearly the entire state from east to west and reaches toward the Canadian border.

Mormon Leaders Hold Meeting in Shoshone

A general conference of the Mormon Church in the Shoshone district was led by State President Hubert Hale with counselors C. Oscar Winkler and W. F. Rawson. Bishops from Manard Carey Heyburn Rupert Jerome Bliss and Shoshone attended along with their secretaries. The day focused on auditing tithings and the evening address urged individual good works before a large crowd at the Metall hotel. Dinner at Seen Tis followed.
