Bruneau Townsite Planned Near Bruneau River

J E Lane from Shoshone surveys Bruneau irrigation townsite at D R Hyde ranch site of 160 acres. Bruneau Townsite Co includes Hyde Parsons Johnson Olden Lane Richardson. A riverboat to serve the area is under construction at Porslaar, linking Dock Valley Nevada trade to the new town.

Sermon by Dr. C. Ross Baker Delights Shoshone Baptist Church

The Shoshone Baptist congregation enjoyed a sermon by Dr. C. Ross Baker of Boise on Fellowship with God. He preached from 1 John and delivered a well prepared, eloquent talk with clear voice, praised as the finest speaker west of the Mississippi. Revs G L Lewis and Howard Bowler assisted. fine choir music complemented a good size audience.

Sipshone Band Plans New Year Benefit Play

The Sipshone band, owing 100 on last summer’s instrument purchase, plans a New Year’s Eve benefit at the opera house to raise funds. Jos Montgomery of Hailey will assist, bringing home talent to the show. The effort aims to clear debt and bolster the band for spring, with Shoshone residents already donating generously. The note falls due in January, and Montgomery will begin regular guidance after the holidays to strengthen the group.

Village Board Sets Electric Light Rates in Shoshone

Shoshone Idaho November 28 1903 the village board met to discuss electric light rates. Members present were J F White chairman J W Waldron J W Wheeler T M Starrh and F E a Tos. Ordinance No 21 fixing electric light rates was read and carried by all yea votes. The board adjourned until the next regular meeting. Attest J F Warre Chairman Isnay W Anbenses Clerk.
