Death of Mrs Leah Combs at 86 in Madison County

Mrs Leah Combs died at her daughter Mrs Nick Dean's home in Madison County aged 86 years 7 months 13 days after a lung hemorrhage. She was widowed eight years ago by James W Comba and lived most of her life near Markleville. Survived by daughters Mrs Dean and Mrs Anna Binkley Chicago ten grandchildren twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral held Christian Church Wednesday at 10 Rev Oliver Beeson officiating burial in Busbay cemetery near Markleville.

Boy and Bike Recovered After Short Disappearance

Fifteen year old Murphey Marshall rented a bicycle from Ed Skinner for a country ride on Thursday. He failed to return that evening and was traced to Shirley where relatives were contacted. The boy and bicycle were recovered with the father bringing them home on Friday afternoon, and no official complaint was filed.

Obituary for Hannah J. Judge of Henry County Indiana

Hannah J. Judge, born January 17 1860 in Henry County Indiana, died May 22 1915 at age 55 years 4 months 5 days. Wife of John Judd since May 1 1866, she leaves one son two daughters thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A faithful mother and neighbor, she will be missed, having departed April 6 1973 after a long illness, to rest without pain or sorrow.

Ball Game Ends in Big Win at Ball Diamond

Shirley defeated Kennard 12 to 1 at the old Ball Diamond in the west end on Sunday. A foul by Russell Camplin hit Roy McKellup outside the fret base line, rendering him unconscious briefly. Kennard will meet Wilkinson next Sunday at Wilkinson.

Death of Henry county farmer Hodson at Cadiz home

William Hodson age 67 years 7 months 16 days died Sunday at his home two miles west of Cadiz. He leaves a wife two children John Hodson and Mrs Lillie Hendricks and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Center Chapel Wednesday at 10 am Reverend Carl Van Winkle officiating. Burial at Mechanicaburg cemetery.

Mrs Durham Hosts Alpha Club Meeting With Music

The Alpha Club gathered at Mrs. Durham’s home last Thursday afternoon for a pleasant program by Mildred Gates and Mildred Durham. Members shared wedding stories, followed by a two course luncheon with guests Mrs Muse Mrs Spencer and Mildred Gates. The Anna Dunkie meeting was postponed due to her upcoming Eastern trip and the next gathering is planned with Mrs Roy Wosminger on Friday June 18.
