Rev. Omer Hufford underwent gall stone surgery at Rushville Sanitarium Friday morning last week. He tolerated the procedure well and is recovering nicely. Hufford formerly served as pastor of the Christian Church in Rushville. His cousin B C Hutford and wife with J W Conglin traveled to Rushville on Thursday to visit him.

About thirty neighbors gathered at Mrs. O. V. Casey's west town home Tuesday evening to celebrate her birthday. Out of town guests included F. A. Rickett and daughter Mary of Evansville. refreshments of candy apples and popcorn were served.

Leo Whistler and Marie Markie wed last Saturday. Bride is eldest daughter of Mrs. Nora Markie of West Main street. groom is eldest son of Charse Whistler of Hancock county. They will live with the bride's mother this summer. Several local residents visited, dined, and attended events, including a lecture by Rev. Carl Van Wrinkle for the new Christian Church. A large gathering celebrated Dr. Fussell's 75th birthday with a communal dinner on East Main street.
Prof and Mrs J P Amick hosted a six oclock dinner for Wilkinson school teachers on Thursday evening. Guests included Mildred Kubo Carolyn Lubee Fern Trees Effie Reed Helen Beers and Mrs Beers.
The Ladies Aid of the Christian church hosted husbands and families at Odum Durham's home on Sout Main Street Thursday evening. The social featured contests and refreshments of ice cream and cake, ending a pleasant gathering.

The Sunshine Club met with Mrs. Thomas on Thursday afternoon. Members answered roll call and heard a program on profitable ring of chickens by incubation presented by Mrs. Walter McCray, plus a discussion of Rural Social Life. Goldie and Retha Thomas led songs. Hostess served pink and white cream and cake. The group adjourned to meet next month with Mrs. James Wills. Guests included Mrs. Thomas, Mesdames Johnson and Emory Williams.
The family of Ruben Rickard and Lizzie Jackson thanks neighbors and friends for kindness sympathy and flowers during illness and death of our husband and father.
