Funeral rites were held Wednesday for Mrs. Gus Mary Hoerig 86 who died September 21 1971 in Shiner Hospital after two and a half months as a patient. Rosary Monday night at Buffington Funeral Home led by Msgr John Hanacek. Requiem Mass and graveside service at Shiner City Cemetery officiated by Msgr Hanacek with pallbearers from Shiner and Yoakum. Mrs Hoerig born September 23 1884 near Columbus Texas. survived by brother Willie P Hewig of Shiner and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband Kurt Gus Hoerig died October 1 1956 and her parents and five sisters preceded her in death. She and her family long resided in Shiner area and Midway.
