Deputy Longorio tracked and arrested Will Oneal, a colored youth, after he struck railway cotton inspector Manning S. P. in a struggle at Compress Saturday. Oneal fled but was spotted by the deputy in Houston and jailed in Hallettsville Sunday morning.
A fatal accident was narrowly averted Saturday night about 8 o clock when Otto Gloor s car and the Robert Claus buggy collided at the A. F. Brosch residence corner. Mr and Mrs Claus and their little son were thrown from the buggy but suffered only bruises. The buggy was damaged and the horse was slightly injured. The car also sustained damage but no serious injuries occurred.

The wedding of Miss Vlasta Mazac and Mr Homer Chandler took place Saturday at Father C J Benes Parish home with witnesses Annie Jansky and Emil Jansky. They return to Shiner then plan to settle in Corpus Christi. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Mazaec, is a Rosenwasser Rubin saleslady.
Paul See died at the local hospital Tuesday night after falling ill Monday afternoon while picking cotton. The 22 year old will be buried in City cemetery after a funeral planned for Wednesday afternoon.

Rudolph Block of Garfield and Erna Flessner of Cabeza wed Monday at Yorktown Lutheran Church. Bride from Cabeza, daughter of Henry and Mrs. Flessner. groom is son of Ed and Mrs. Block of Garfield. They plan to live on the Block farm in Garfield as the elder Blocks move to Yorktown.
