Deputy Longorio tracked and arrested Will Oneal, a colored youth, after he struck railway cotton inspector Manning S. P. in a struggle at Compress Saturday. Oneal fled but was spotted by the deputy in Houston and jailed in Hallettsville Sunday morning.

Accident Saturday Night Near A. F. Brosch Corner
A fatal accident was narrowly averted Saturday night about 8 o clock when Otto Gloor s car and the Robert Claus buggy collided at the A. F. Brosch residence corner. Mr and Mrs Claus and their little son were thrown from the buggy but suffered only bruises. The buggy was damaged and the horse was slightly injured. The car also sustained damage but no serious injuries occurred.
