Frank T. Pesek age 70 years 9 months 13 days longtime Lavaca County farmer died September 7 1969 in Shiner. Funeral held September 9 at Kubena Funeral Home Hallettsville then Sweet Home Catholic Church with Requiem Mass. Burial in Sweet Home Catholic Cemetery. Survived by wife Sophie one son Joseph five daughters Henrietta Lucille Jus tina and others 14 grandchildren. He was a member of Queen of Peace Church KJT Society St Isidor Lodge.

Town and Country Jamboree in Moulton Saturday

The Town and Country Jamboree sponsored by the Moulton Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will draw hundreds Saturday September 20. The parade begins at 2:00 p.m. from the elementary school along Front Street to the VFW Hall with fiddlers contest Czech dancers and aircraft fly in.

The Shiner Comanches host one of the state's top Class A teams, Poth, at Comanche Stadium Friday night at 8 00. Poth opened with a 70 0 win over Natalia and features all state halfback Ross Poth with multiple scoring runs and Alferio Cervantes on several carries.

Stormy Rainfall Hits Shiner Area Overnight

A thunderstorm moved through the Shiner area around 12 30 a.m. Wednesday September 17 dropping 1 50 inches of rain on the city. Moulton measured two inches of rainfall with high winds accompanying the downpour.

Mrs. Christian Brom aged 66 6 22 died September 7 1969 at Wagner Memorial Hospital Shiner after a stroke at home. Funeral Monday September 8 from Smith Funeral Home Moulton with services at St Josephs Catholic Church. Interment in Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Surviving are husband Christian Brom of Moulton two sons Eugene and Elvin Brom of Houston three daughters Evelyn Raab Eloice Zissa and Joyce Berkovsky twenty grandchildren and several siblings.

Large crowd attends the September 15 funeral in Shiner for Louise Dorothea Boedeker Osborn 73 after a long illness. Services at Buffington Funeral Home and Sts Cyril and Methodius Church included a Requiem Mass and graveside rites. She life spanned 1895 to 1969 with a career at Wagner Hospital and Schulze Hospital and nursing school work. Surviving family includes daughter Lorraine Galovie and several siblings.
