Free Films To Be Shown Tonight At City Auditorium

Naval recruiters Doyle Clardy and Roman Hanak present four reels of war films at the City Auditorium tonight at 8 15 p m. The event is sponsored by V F W Post 6209 and free to the public. Navy veterans who have not yet received listed medals may obtain them this evening. The films have drawn large crowds in neighboring towns. Eight Texas amendments set for November ballot

The Texas secretary of state drew the eight proposed constitutional amendments to appear on the November ballot. The list includes proposals on county workers compensation, redistricting after each census, community property division to avoid inheritance taxes, gubernatorial succession, preserving homestead exemptions, shifting county official pay to salaries, abolishing general ad valorem taxes for state purposes, and establishing a judicial retirement system.
