Epworth Leaguers Host Peach Party at Welhausen Home
Epworth Leaguers held an open house Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peck Welhausen to honor members heading to school duties. L. C. Merrem and Carl Welhausen led groups in contests like Board Walk Race, Swimming Race, High Dive, Life Saving Feat, Clam Dig, Rowing Race and Sail Boat Race. Merrem's side won the blue ribbon as refreshments of sandwiches and iced punch were served.

Sad news reached Shiner early Monday of Mrs W A Thatcher passing at her daughter Mrs R B Lewis home in Waco. She was a beloved relative of the Gazette household and visited frequently. The funeral was conducted in Flatonia Tuesday afternoon.
