School notes urge library return and early enrollment

Yoakum Laundryman Killed at Clark's Creek
A Yoakum laundryman named Mr. Savage was shot to death Saturday night at Clark's Creek, three miles from Yoakum. County Attorney Paul Fertsch toured the scene Sunday, Deputy Julius P. Munsch of Sweet Home was bonded for 5000, and a man named Trench bonded for 500 to await the hearing. Reports say Savage and companions went fishing when a quarrel sparked the shooting. Savage died en route to the Yoakum hospital.

Dreyer Ginner Killed in Tragic Accident
A fatal accident occurred Monday at about 7 o clock when Tom Hobizal was instantly killed by his gun’s automatic mechanism. The injury included a broken neck and a large wound at the back of the skull. Hobizal, a Dreyer resident for two years, previously from Oak Forest, leaves a wife and nine children. Funeral was held in Gonzales Wednesday.
