Emil Miculka Funeral Services Held Friday
Funeral services for Emil Miculka of Shiner were held at Buffington Funeral Home and Saints Cyril and Methodius Church with a high mass. He died August 25 1965 after a stroke in 1959 left him bedbound and in a wheelchair. Survived by wife Mary and children, he was a self taught artist and musician who led Mac's Orchestra for 35 years.

Explosion at Sulphur Park Oil Site Injures Kasper
A propane butane tank rupture at an oil well site near Sulphur Park caused a violent explosion. August Kasper suffered third degree burns while fleeing a burning Chevrolet and Ford. Two cars were destroyed and a third scorched as Shiner volunteers fought the blaze.
