Twentieth Century Club Holds Season End Social
The Twentieth Century Club closed the season with a gathering at Mr. and Mrs. Julius Wolters home on September 17. Members enjoyed topics from the president, learned about a Columbus Vespucius Cabots paper, and planned a United States history course for the coming year. Refreshments, decorations, and a prize draw followed, with attendees listing names and a total collection of 25.50.

Catholic wedding in Halletsville marks union of Strauss Schmidt
A Wednesday morning Catholic ceremony officiated by Rev. Sheehan united Mr. R. J. Strauss and Mrs Emma Schmidt in holy matrimony. The organ was played by Prof. Guenther with singing led by Mrs. Guenther. Attendants included Fritz Schmidt Henry Strauss Anna Schmidt and Tillie Strauss. After lavish luncheon guests sent the couple off for a San Antonio Corpus Christi Weimar trip before setting up housekeeping in the Harthman cottage.

Protest Filed Over Lavaca County Liquor License
In Halletts ville Texas on September 23 Country Attorney Bagby filed a protest against issuing a malt liquor license to Frank Davilek of Henkhaus. He alleges Davilek continued business after expiration of his former license in August without filing a new application. A complaint was also filed against Darilek for selling malt liquor without a license. This marks Lavaca County's first license contest.
