All Shiner Businesses to Close on Armistice Day

All Shiner business houses will be closed Saturday November 11 to mark Armistice Day. The note urges Friday evening closing and stocking supplies to last until Monday as the Kolar Stanek Post joins in the Sweet Home celebration, inviting community participation.

Mrs. E. J. Merrem Breaks Arm

Mrs. E J Merrem slipped on a concrete walk while moving from her rear entrance to the laundry room Monday morning and broke both bones of her right hand just above the wrist. A forehead flesh wound was also sustained. Mr Merrem summoned aid and with Miss Mabel's help she rested in her room the rest of the day. By Tuesday morning she could rise and friends hoped the fractures would knit without major inconvenience.

Serious Accident Narrowly Averted at Local Intersections

A Sunday morning collision at the J.C. Blohm and A. J. Brosch corners damaged several cars and left Marvin Rubin with a cracked rib after his mother Mrs. Rubin and Rose Gasser in a Spoetzl Ford were involved. Rubin’s son was thrown to the steering wheel and knocked unconscious but recovered by Tuesday.
