Lavaca County Grand Jury Adjourns For Term
Lavaca County grand jury adjourned for the term reporting nine felony indictments and one misdemeanor indictments in five cases investigated with others not indictable. It urged screening doors and windows at the poor farm and furnishing springs for beds. Judge Kennon referred the report to the Commissioners Court. It also asked Kennon to reconsider resignation. The Plaza Hotel in Gonzales will be leased by A. E. Perkins and operated from November 1, taking over from Rogge and Dreyer. Hallowe'en Festival Lights Up High School Event
A High School Hallowe'en celebration Friday featured a Macbeth witch scene Hamlet soliloquy and Irish songs by the Irish Lassies. Students in native costumes performed dances and comic acts, with Miss Wolters and Eddie Huebner leading the final group. The Mothers' Club sold snacks and the event raised 100 for the school.

Shiner Forms Town Government With New Officials
