Mr. Joe Meyer of Dreyer suffered a bad bruise to the leg after a wagon tongue bolt broke on a downhill pull from Shiner. The team ran away, the wagon struck a tree, and the vehicle ended at John Phillips's house with a damaged wheel and a broken spoke.

The silver wedding of Mr. and Mrs. John Oltman drew a large turnout at Turner hall following a 4 PM ceremony at their home. Guests received many valuable presents and the evening included an elegant supper and dancing until late.
