The 1931 seniors of Shiner High School staged the play Who Wouldnt Be Crazy at the city auditorium last Friday night filling the venue. Under Mrs Thulemeyer the junior orchestra debuted new faces and instruments. The show drew widespread praise Saturday for dramatic talent and coaching by Miss Mabel Merrem, with each cast member deserving commendation for the successful presentation.

Large Stock Shipment Sends Forty Five Farmers Livestock
A Monday shipment from Shiner carried 27 grown cattle 11 calves 41 hogs and 188 sheep by forty five farmers. Prices sagged with market weakness though cattle sold 2.50 to 5.00 hogs up to 6.75 and sheep 1.00 to 7.50. Some cattle were delayed and moved the next day with Ummelmann Hajek and Koether shipping a car to Fort Worth Market.

Season length depends on moisture. ample moisture could extend four weeks or more. If moisture is short, maturity comes quicker. Prices started lower than usual, but growers hope for steady levels. Gather only well matured tomatoes for quality counts. they must be ripe and not shrivel.

Final Tribute To Dr. Brooks
Funeral services for Dr. Samuel Palmer Brooks, longtime Baylor University president, drew about 3,000 mourners in Waco with 2,000 turned away. Baylor figures Pat M. Neff presided as speakers praised a man and scholar. Survived by wife Aurelia, daughter, son S. P. Brooks Jr. and family. a Georgia nephew and a brother in Austin. May his sleep be sweet.
