Karen Hartmann daughter of Mr and Mrs August Hartmann earns valedictorian honors for St Paul High 1977 graduation. She excels academically and participates in CYO pep squad FTA FNA CDA JETS National Honor Society Junior Legion Auxiliary Interact Club Drug Club Student Council and Red Rap staff. She has held offices including CYO president CDA treasurer class reporter NHS president Junior Legion Auxiliary and Interact director. Her honors include outstanding band member award biology science fair placement Girls State alternate all state band.

Burns At the Brewery Send Two to BAMC Burn Center

Friends may write to Ernest Kurtz and Bill Kindred at BAMC Ward 13B Ft. Sam Houston TX 78234. The pair were burned in a flash fire on Thursday April 28 at the brewery, suffering first and second degree burns to hands and arms. They were treated at the BAMC Burn Center and expect release in about two weeks.

Vandals Cause Heavy Damage at Green-Dickson Park

Photos show the press box at Clipper Field Green-Dickson Park in Shiner reduced to a shell after vandalism over the April 30 to May 1 weekend. The Gazette notes additional damage to the park and praises the facilities as a public asset.

Shiner Public School Spring Band Concert May 12

The Shiner Public School bands present their Spring Band Concert on Thursday May 12 at 7 30 p m in the High School Gym. The program features all bands from beginners to the high school with the High School Concert Band performing pieces from this year’s contest. The Stage Band plays songs from Beer Barrel Polka to The Hustle and the Band Sweetheart Outstanding Boy and Outstanding Girl will be announced that night. Everyone is invited for an enjoyable evening of music.

St Paul High to Hold Athletic Banquet May 18
