The Junior Class of Shiner High School sponsors a bake sale in front of the First National Bank from 9:00 to 12:00 AM. Items include kolaches pies noodles strudel and cakes.

Patman Wins Senatorial Race in Texas Primary

State Sen. William N. Patman of Ganado defeated Culp Krueger of El Campo in the May 7 Democratic Primary, carrying Victoria and San Patricio counties. Lavaca County favored Krueger, while Patman led in the newly drawn eighteenth district tally with 30,388 votes to 22,241 for Krueger.
