County Court Approves Jail Repairs Bids
The county commissioners court adopted plans and will advertise for bids to repair and alter four jail cells at an estimated cost of about $1000. Bids are due by noon April 8. District Court Hears Assault to Murder Case
Homer Williams pleaded guilty to assault to murder and received the maximum term of fifteen years in the state pen. The 19 year old attacked Cecilie Kapak, a 20 year old Bohemian girl, near her field on December 9 with a rock. Williams fled, was arrested that night, and identified by the victim. Pinter was acquitted of forgery involving a forged lightning rod note. Other docket items include murder and robbery trials scheduled for late March and upcoming hearings for false swearing and burglary.

A large group of young people gathered at the city park Monday night to surprise Mie Wapat land on their anniversary. After welcomes, guests played Rock, High Five, Forty-two and Five Hundred, then shared refreshments prepared by Mrs. Wendtland and Miss Hillie.
