Funeral services were held for Mrs. Mary Kral on Saturday after a long illness. The Shiner Catholic rites included Requiem High Mass and a family-led rosary. Survivors include son Ernest and four daughters, plus 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was 68.

F.F.A. 4-Hers Take Honors at South Texas Livestock Show
The Shiner community earned several ribbons and sales at the Cuero event March 15 16 and 17. Oren Remmers and Joe Patek Jr both exhibited 820 pound Hereford steers winning fourth and third premiums respectively and selling to local buyers. Multiple hogs lambs and a capon earned blue and red ribbons with sales to Cuero Halettsville Jackson Implement Co and others. Grand champions included steer by Lee Roy Schreeder hog by Robert Geisler lamb by Billy Ryan and capon by Buzzy Dietze with buyers named. The club boys thank buyers and especially the Shiner Chamber of Commerce for backing.

Ford Tractor School Held at City Hall
The Boehm Tractor and Auto Sales hosted Ford tractor owners at City Hall on Monday evening with attendance prizes. Harry Bryant District L Supervisor and Arno Rudolf Ford dealer attended, and the group viewed the technicolor film Waves of Green. The Veterans Class of about 160 attended an afternoon showing. refreshments were served. All businesses close Good Friday at noon until 3 pm and Easter Monday is an all day holiday. Housewives are warned about March 24 closures.
