Death of Adolph Rabe at 47 in Shiner

Adolph Rabe aged 47 died at home in Shiner after a yearlong illness last Thursday March 11. Funeral held Friday March 12 at Shiner cemetery conducted by Rev Wolfsdorf of Yoakum with Hermann Sens assisting. Survived by wife and three children, two sons and one daughter. Gazette extends sympathy to the family.

District Court Session Opens After Late Train Arrival

District Court convened yesterday afternoon after the 2 48 p m train arrived nearly two hours late. The grand jury was empaneled with H J Strunk as foreman and 11 other jurors from various towns including Hope Moulton Shiner Salem Moravia Wied Mossy Grove and County Line Judge Kennon urged the panel to scrutinize county and city finances and stressed extending inquiry beyond incorporated areas.

W S Miller assignee of Simpson Bank filed a final report with County Clerk John Hastedt this week. The document spans sixty six typewritten pages, listing total liabilities of 258 129 30 and assets of 520 129 15, yielding net assets of 260 519 85.
