Percy Garbade and Joe Strauss Elected To Hall of Fame

Old Timer Baseball Association officials announce the election of Percy Garbade and Joe Strauss to the OTBA Hall of Fame from an 18 county area. The presentation is set for March 20 1977 at Blase's place between Shiner and Hallettsville with a 1 30 p m opening pitch and a 3 p m certificate ceremony. Clipper Tournament Set For March 26-27 And April 2-3

The eighth annual Shiner Clipper Invitational baseball tournament runs March 26-27 and April 2-3 with eight area amateur teams including Flatonia Schulenburg Victoria Hallettsville Yoakum and two Shiner squads. Parks and Wildlife hearing on proposed Lava C County rules

A public hearing is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday March 23 1977 at the County Courthouse Hallettsville to gather input on proposed hunting fishing and trapping regulations for Lavaca County. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission now sets seasons bag limits and methods of taking wildlife in Lavaca County. All interested parties are urged to attend and comment.

Goetz Rites Held Monday

Otto W. Goetz 83 of Shiner died March 12 1977 in a Gonzales nursing home. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at United Dr. Martin Luther Church Shiner with burial in Shiner City Cemetery. Survived by a son Otto Lee Goetz Brenham three daughters Irene Dari lek Evelyn Dari lek and Gladys Wyatt 15 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren.

Shiner High School Band sells tickets for the Annual SHS Band Bar-B-Que to be held Sunday March 20 at the Legion Dining Hall.
