Death of Brother Reported in Bizbee Arizona

Mr. T. M. Nowlin received the sad news of his brother's death in Bizbee Arizona on Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Nowlin left Saturday for Fort Worth to meet the body and bring it to the old home at Myrtle Mississippi. They expect to be away several weeks visiting, and the aged father. Mr. Nowlin's many friends extend sympathy in his bereavement.

A city election will be held on the first Tuesday in April, the 3rd, at City Hall in Shiner, Texas. Voters elect one Mayor, three Aldermen, and one City Secretary for two years. Polls open at a.m. T. Parent Teachers Meet at School March Meeting

A regular PTA session on March 8 with nineteen members present. President Mrs Alyina Wolters chaired as $34.75 in bills were ordered paid and $120.05 from the committee was cleared at a Colonial Entertainment fundraiser for the association. The group agreed to share half the cost of a flag pole to be erected on school grounds. Mrs Wm Green’s resignation was accepted. Mansfield to Change Address to Columbus Texas

Hon J J Mansfield congressman from the 9th District writes the Gazette to alter his address to Columbus Texas as he departs for Texas this week. The piece expresses hope the southern air will restore the Judge to his former good health.

Students Recital Pleasing Music By Merrem And Walters

The school auditorium was crowded Friday night as expression pupils under Miss Merrem and violin pupils under Miss Walters performed. Much praise was heard for both pupils and instructors, noting marked improvement since the first recital and earning deserved commendation for their efforts.

Theatre Parties Honor Shiner High Basketball Teams

The Lynch Davidson Lumber Co through manager O W Miler hosted two theatre parties at Liberty Theatre for Shiner High School girls and boys basketball teams during the past week. The attractions were The Trails End on Saturday and The Dangerous Curve Ahead the following night, a courteous gesture by Mr Miller.

The American Legion Auxiliary met in regular session at the Legion rooms last Thursday night. The general routine of business was discussed. All members are urged to be present at the next meeting to decide to what extent the Auxiliary shall be represented in the Pair.

Mrs. Chas. Longoria hosted the Five Hundred Club gathering on Friday afternoon. After a tie with Miss Mae Hughs, Mrs. Benno Holchak was awarded first prize. Midway to House Yorktown Gin for Fall Cotton Crop

August and Theo Rogge are moving their Yorktown gin to Midway and will have it ready for the upcoming fall cotton harvest. The relocation aims to support local growers by providing processing capacity as the season begins.
