Texas Health Dept Manages Atomic License Transfer
The Texas State Health Department reports its authority to license by product and small quantities of nuclear materials after receiving AEC transfer of over 350 licenses. Texas now leads in reactors and fuel sites but the AEC retains control for large-scale installations. The agency, with a Radiation Advisory Board, began reviewing and contacting licensees as part of the state program established after 1959 legislation and a 1961 transfer.
