Marion band praise from writer editor boosts town music
Sherwood Anderson, famed writer turned Marion editor, champions the Marion band with weekly columns. Donations from national figures like Otto Kahn, H. L. Mencken, Horace Liveright, Alfred Knopf, Fred Black, and Brig. Gen. Rosenbaum support the group as Anderson urges readers to join the Glory List and fund band salaries, uniforms, and concerts through the summer.
