Five Towns Seek Bowen Bus Service to Houston

Representatives from five towns traveled to Houston to urge the Railroad Commission to grant Bowen Motor Coach Lines a direct San Antonio to Houston route. The 1936 application by R. C. Bowen prompted a hearing slated for June 12–13, 1940, in Houston, with anticipated connections to Seguin Belmont Shiner Hallettsville Altair Columbus Sealy Katy and Gonzales, expanding trade and bus access for communities lacking service. Participants from Shiner included L. E. Denmark P. R. Otto Jos. Muras L. M. Roeder Emil L. Balusek Chas. Miculka Mrs. Elo Wolters Mrs. Albert Muenich Mrs. Cecile Plagemann and Miss Mary Lee Fietsam.

Schoenfeld Stanek Wedding In Houston Church

Harbers Hartl Wedding Unites Dreyer Couple at Local Church

On Tuesday at 8:00 Rev E Bily united Perry Harbers son of Mr Mrs Anton Harbers of Dreyer and Miss Della Hartl daughter of Mr Mrs John Hartl in the local Catholic Church. Witnesses were Joe Hartl and Jim Hartl. The bride wore a navy blue suit and dusty rose blouse with carnation and fern bouquet. The groom wore a dark blue suit. A meal followed at the bride's home for relatives and Father Hug of Yoakum. The couple will reside in Dreyer and begin life together with best wishes.
