Oscar Lee Hirsch Attends 1972 Texas Boys State
The 32nd American Legion Boys State in Texas ran June 7 14 1972 at the University of Texas with 840 high school delegates including Oscar Lee Hirsch son of Mr and Mrs Oscar A Hirsch Rt 1 Shiner sponsored by American Legion Post 201. Participants joined one of two parties Nationalist or Federalist and attended local county and state conventions while housing in eight Boys Cities named for late Department Commanders. A highlight was a Capitol trip June 13 where elected officials served in office for a day. Since 1940 about 16 619 junior high boys have attended Boys State Texas.

Organ Concert at Lutheran Church by Baldwin Representative
