Brown sentenced to two years in state penitentiary
The Yoakum Graphic reports Ss. Gri W. Brown was tried in Cuero Foster ge nethys and sentenced to two years in the penitentiary. A mortgage for 75 dollars against Brown covered eighteen head of cattle and horses. the debt was unpaid and the mortgage foreclosed, but the stock could not be found at call, and the verdict scene was described as very affecting with Mrs. Brown present.

Valley farmer touts cotton as drought-resilient in 35 acres
Ed Holly of Valley View says his cotton crop is the best in the neighborhood and will yield a half bale per acre even without rain. The field spans 35 acres and should begin to open in about three weeks. Louis Frerichs of Yoakum was in town seeking stray horses. Sheriff Houchins hunted witnesses in the Othold case at Floresville next Monday. Mrs Moss of Ledbetter visited August Schundt this week.
