German Beer Garden With Music At July 4th Hospital Benefit Event

Shiner plans a German Beer Garden for the July 4th Hospital Benefit with pretzels snacks and Keg Beer Only available by pitcher or glass. Local musicians in German attire perform outdoors all day. a young talent is planned to appear. The committee seeks backyard tables and food donations from Patek's Ray's Star Minear or Welhausen's.

Mobile X-Ray Unit to Visit Shiner Parks

Shiner is hosting the Mobil X-ray Unit sponsored by the Shiner Business Men's Club. It will be at Legion Park on Thursday June 3 from 11 00 a.m. to 1 00 p.m. and 2 00 p.m. to 6 00 p.m. A 1.00 donation is requested with Pink Ladies assisting. The event promotes annual chest X rays to fight tuberculosis.

Frank Rebecek an El Campo resident died May 24 1971 in a rest home at age 80. Texans Willard and Stella Russell Gift 3,096 Acres to 8 Colleges

Houston philanthropists Willard L. Russell and his wife give 3096 acres valued at about 4 million dollars in Harris and Brazoria Counties to eight Texas colleges. Summer Classes At Shiner Public Schools

Summer pre school and remedial classes begin Monday June 7 1971 at Shiner Public Schools with four buses running morning and afternoon routes.
