Sincere tribute from Nickel Texas April 10 1911 recalls Mrs Patsy Key known as Grand ma Key who died March 1911 in Gonzales County at age 92 Born Tennessee 1819 married Reuben Key 1835 and moved to Texas near Moulton where she lived 60 years She joined Primitive Baptist Church in youth and lived as a devout Christian remembered for kindness and faith Her daughter Rue Thornton cared for her at Nickel with two daughters present at death Her husband died 1873 and ten children are named with spouses and locations Her body laid to rest at Buntisy cemetery beside her husband Rev Dobes officiated the funeral sermon This obituary notes a noble life and calls for living by her example
