County Scholastic Census Figures for La Vac a County
The La Vac a county scholastic census shows 9 485 white children and 1 385 colored, total 6 870 schoolage. Hallettsville IDD has 278 whites 23 colored Yoakum IDD 576 whites 91 colored Shiner IDD 207 whites 52 colored rural districts 3 975 whites 923 colored. The total marks a slight rise from last year.

Hallettsville Sets County Tax Rate for Current Year
Hallettsville Texas July 10 at a special court meeting the county commissioners fixed the tax rate at 19 cents with 6 1 2 cents for general county fund 2 1 2 for courthouse bonds 1 for old bridge bonds 1 2 for new bridge bonds and 7 1 2 for road and bridge fund equal to last year. The county has twenty seven school districts each levying a maintenance tax. Occupation tax was set at one half state rate. Hallettsville city to regulate increasing automobile traffic with a future speed limit and signaling requirements.
