Mrs Felix Chilek of Shiner Texas has been named grand prize winner of Uncle Johnny Mills essay contest. She will receive an all expense paid five day trip for two to Mexico City with Pan American jet travel from Houston and stay at the Hotel Geneve plus $100 cash. Mrs Anton Havel Dies After Illness in Wharton County
Mrs. Anton Havel 52 lifelong Wharton County resident died Friday June 23 at Nightingale Hospital after extended illness. Born Feb 16 1909 at East Bernard she was formerly Rosalie Habital. Funeral services were held June 26 at Triska Chapel and a Requiem High Mass at Taiton Catholic Church. Interment followed at Taiton Catholic Cemetery with pallbearers James Coffey Tony Havel Marcus Havel Charles Havel Vincent Hobital and Ronald Kosler. Surviving are her husband Anton Havel three sons Jerome Robert and Daniel all of El Campo four sisters and five brothers.
