Yoakum Ginners Association Meets in Yoakum
The Yoakum District Ginners Association held its annual session in Yoakum on June 25 with delegates from across the district. Speeches honored Dr. Blackwell of Dallas, editor of the Texas Ginner, and a two minute tribute was given. Officers elected: George Hagan, D. B. McManus, and Louis Trautwein.

Ed Stade Mannan News of Local Suicide Shocks Town
Ed Stademann died by suicide Tuesday night in a local hotel after a period of physical and nervous strain. Business associates doubt financial motives and say physicians advised a rest cure. The body was to be taken to LaGrange for funeral arrangements as family travels from Lubrock. Public notice of the tragedy interrupted the Gazette’s press run.

First Bale of 24 Dollar Cotton Shipped from Mission Texas
The first bale of new cotton from Mission in Hidalgo County was raised by Juan Diez and sold at the Cotton Exchange for 1405 dollars. J M Edel & Co bought it last Saturday morning in Houston.

D-4 Club Dance Opens With Enthusiastic Local Orbit
The new D-4 Club held its opening social at Bluecher Park with an invitation dance. Attendees praised the well planned event and the Jolly Entertainers provided music. Decorations highlighted orange and gold colors and shasta daisies everywhere. The club officers spared no expense to ensure a successful gathering with many guests present.

The D-4 Club now occupies the large front room of the former Dr. Schuze Hospital in a tidy, well furnished space. Summer plans include dances, parties, swimming and watermelon fetes. Officers are H. Camp Fire Girls Hostess Miss Rivera Herder
Camp Fire Girls Miss Rivera Herder proved a pleasing hostess to the senior Camp Fire Girls Saturday afternoon at 6 o'clock. A surprise guest was Mrs. G W Blumberg of Seguin, former assistant guardian of the Minnehaha Camp Fire Group. Miss Herder and her mother served a tempting salad course. The next meeting will be with Miss Lillian Merseburger on Saturday July 12.
