Substitutes saw extensive action as the team extended its winning run while B team remains undefeated at seven wins. Dennis Eugene Baca of Route 2 Box 6 Shiner Texas enlisted in the Navy Jan 16 at the Navy Recruiting Station Houston along with twenty other South Texas district youths. Memorial for Wm J Tomasco in Shiner obituary
Wm J Tomasco died Sunday at 8 10 p m after a long illness. Funeral services were held at United Dr Luther Church with interment in City Cemetery. He was born August 15 1886 in Lavaca County and lived in Shiner since childhood. He served on the City Council and in the local fire department, and was active in the Lutheran Church and community affairs. Surviving are his wife of 31 years, two brothers, one sister, and two nephews. Pallbearers were city officials. The community offers condolences and recollections of his public spirit and artistry in interior decorating.
