Holiday Hunt Violations Cost 8 Men $1282 In Fines
Eight men faced fines and costs totaling 1282.50 for trespassing and deer hunting violations during the Christmas holidays. Trials for two others were set in county court. Warden Leo Kohleffel filed cases against two men caught December 31 with five deer and a single deer tag on a Dewey Goode farm in Osage. Hauck of Houston hosted the hunt and used another man’s deer tag. Additional charges arose involving antlerless deer permits and license misuse. Two trespassing cases also resulted in fines of 25 dollars and 19.50 in costs, while another trespass yielded 10 dollars plus 19.50. One man faced a 50-dollar fine for killing a doe without a permit.
