Local government records show the city council schedules its monthly meeting on the first Monday. Officials listed include Mayor Preasurer Pretary and city director figures with aldermen present for the session.
In effect August 18 1901 the Lockhart branch shows Train 45 from Lockhart at 12 55 PM and Train 46 from Youdeuin at 2 40 PM. Waco branch lists Train 42 from Waco at 1 05 PM Train 44 leaves Shiner at 2 18 AM Yoakum to Waco Train 41 from Yoakum at 3 03 PM Train 43 leaves Shiner at 10 04 PM.
The Shiner township reports cotton receipts reaching 6956 square bales and 2020 round bales, counted as two for one to total 7966, a drop from last year. A Gonzales visit noted the new cotton factory nearing operation, with engine, boiler and textile machinery being installed and expected to run by February 1.

He leaves a wife Tennie Schweitzer two children and many relatives with tributes to his big heart and community service. Also includes testimonial for Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy and notice that I W Griffith plans to run for sheriff of Javacm county after selling his butcher business.
An advertisement promises a one day cure for colds using Raxative Bromo Quinine Tablets. It claims all druggists refund the money if it fails and features HK W. Above’s signature on each box. The price is 25 cents.
Winter tourist rates announced with Oct 31 start. Round trip Yoakum to Marlin 7.45 dollars and Yoakum to Wooten Wells 7.60 dollars.
The note warns readers that Grove's tasteless Chill Tonic lists iron and quinine on every bottle and claims no cure, no pay.
Moulton Stems and C M Kotzebue proprietor of the Moore Hotel have about twenty rooms being papered and fixed up by John Bronkenhoefer. Last week farmer Nachlinger sold forty seven bales of cotton to Buck Jaeggli. Julius Kotzebue returned from Chicago after Xmas with a report of a firetime and a thermometer reading twenty below zero. Huot's Cure advertised as a remedy for ringworm fevers and skin diseases priced twenty five cents.
