The city gears up for a busy year with Purity Creamery racing to finish and churning by weekend. Keen Bottling announces readiness and invites patronage as Magnolia Petroleum overhauls warehouses and storage tanks with fresh paint. Street work improves streets, electric light repairs proceed, and train dispatching gains by Western Union line upgrades. Kaspar Wire Basket Works expands, Welter Mancheni relocates battery operation, two tailor rooms open, and City Hotel welcomes guests under Mrs. A E Polak with renewed rooms and meals services. The film Luther, His Life and Time drew full houses at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jackson with strong praise. Special music heightened the program as Luther’s life from birth to reformer is portrayed across eight reels. Attendees included Lutherans pastors and other church members, with Detroit showings planned and additional Jackson screenings likely. The United Dr Martin Luther Church of Shiner will present the picture at the Palace Theatre on Wednesday January 19.

Methodist S S presented Old Old Story in shadow pictures as a rich musical background enhanced the service. St Ludmila’s High parish hall held a large crowd for a Santa themed program. Catholic Midnight Mass at 12:05 featured trained choir and orchestra, described as solemn and impressive.
