Mystery Farm Identified Near Shiner on Highway 95
Aerial photo identified the estate of the late John and Mary Kloesel located 214 miles south of Shiner on Highway 95. The 133 acres were first acquired about 64 years ago, now 92 acres under cultivation with crops including cotton corn and cane. The Kloesel family includes three daughters and four sons, with Will ie H. operating the farm from the 1934 cottage on the homestead. Members attend Shiner Catholic Church and school, and soil conservation is practiced. This week’s correct guessers and the free Palace Theatre passes went to readers including Anton Kalisek and Kenneth Sonntag.

Twenty four Lavaca County 4-H Club boys join the Calf Scramble at San Antonio events. Prizes fund livestock purchases for farms and stock need not be returned to the show. This marks Lavaca County’s first Calf Scramble at the San Antonio event with strong participation.
