Death of John Michal Sr aged 65 in Flatonia
John Michal Sr aged 65 years 8 months died last Friday at his Flatonia home and was buried Saturday February 19 at Flatonia City Cemetery. Funeral services were conducted by the 8 P J 8 T Lodge of which he was a member. Shiner attendees included Mrs Ben Novak Sr Anton Novak John Michal and his young son. The community extends sympathy to the family.

Negro Is Sentenced To Hang At Gonzales Texas
Albert Howard and Joe Nation, convicted for criminal assault after escaping the county jail, were sentenced by Judge M Kennon. Howard received the death penalty to hang March 18, Nation was sentenced to 99 years in the penitentiary. The crime occurred after their October 27 escape and subsequent capture near Hondo on November 1.

Despite rain, the Twentieth Century Club met at Mrs. C. B. Welhausen’s home and reiterated its charity by pledging five dollars to the Interscholastic League Meet prize fund.
