Last Rites Said Saturday for W. H. Schutte in Shiner
The body of William H. Schutte Sr. arrived in Flatonia and was conveyed to Shiner for funeral rites February 15 1958. He died February 9 in San Diego at age 72 after a stroke and long illness. He was born January 14 1886 in Galveston and lived in Galveston San Diego. Surviving children include William H. Schutte George A. Schutte Dorothy Anweiller Adeline Roitsch Ellen Koehler and four grandchildren. Burial followed at Shiner City Cemetery.

Tragic Death of Robert Janca In Lavaca County
Robert Janca was killed in a tractor and feed trailer crash on Highway 90 A east of Shiner when a 1955 Chevrolet driven by Mrs Perce Rees failed to see the trailer. He died instantly from a board injury as the car rolled and the tractor was heavily damaged. Funeral services were held February 15 at United Dr. Martin Luther Church in Shiner.

Funeral Rites Planned for John Michal Sr.
Funeral services for John Michal Sr., 73, will be held Wednesday February 19, 1958. The Buffington Funeral Chapel in Shiner will transport to Sts Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church for a Mass at 9:00 officiated by Rev. Father John J. Hanacek. Burial will follow in Shiner Catholic Cemetery.

J W Pyland Moulton school superintendent died February 13 at 6 48 p m in Wagner Hospital Shiner after a stroke. Funeral services were held at Smith Funeral Home Moulton with burial in Moulton City Cemetery. He was 54 and survived by his wife a daughter Dorothy Giles of San Antonio and a son James Pyland of Houston.
