More Gas Complaints Coming In
AUSTIN Feb 14 Complaints charging excessive bills on natural gas have been more numerous this year than ever before according to M S Fraze chief of the division of weights and measures in the state department of agriculture So many requests have been made for the services of the sole inspector assigned to this work that it has been impossible for him to give the immediate service requested While the inspector was investigating complaints from the Rio Grande valley a hurry up call came from Dallas county for the states testing apparatus followed by requests from such widely separated counties as Grayson and Reeves Many other complaints are on file some of them brought by delegations who made special trips here for the purpose The inspector will attempt to answer all calls for his services as fast as possible Fraze said Investigations often disclose faulty meters the division chief said but he suggested that citizens in the complaining cities also look to the quality of their gas The weights and measures division does NOT report on quality.
